Another big important day yesterday. After a great deal of time preping and lining up my mast, the time came to stick on the new carbon mast track.
Everything went smoothly and the track bedded down well. A big thanks to Steve who came and gave me a hand for the day as it was defiantly a 2 person job.
I was very excited to go and see how it had gone today but unfortunately I am locked out of the shed so have to wait until tomorrow. Its good though, as it gives me time to catch up on all the paperwork and small jobs I need to do.
Tomorrow I hope to start on the finally section of paintwork, the deck grip paint.

Gloss Trim

I finally finished knocking back the primer and today have painted all the areas that are going to have the snow white high gloss finish. A final coat tomorrow, and a couple of days to harden, then I'm all ready for the fine lining and grip painting. While all the paint work has been going on I have had time to fill in with building my new clear coat hatch and my new liferaft ram for in the transom. The mast track also arrived yesterday and looks great, things are finally starting to come together.

HMS Night Fever

I am very happy to report that Night Fever now has battle ship grey decks, coach house roof and cockpit. I was wheeled into the shed at Berthon yesterday and taped up, cleaned and 545 primed the boat. I have to add how nice it is to be working in a warm shed. The primer hardened well over night and today I spent the day knocking it back with 400 grit.

Its always exciting to get painting, it makes such a big impact to the boat so quickly. I quite like the look of Night Fever in grey, very mean. I aim to have it all fully preped over the weekend and then ready for top coat next week. Then comes the rush to get it all back together asap and get sailing again...

Thursday 11 February 2010

I want to say a big thank you to Howden’s Joinery of Lymington and especially Brad for being my first financial sponsors.

As for the boat it finally feels as if I’ve turned as massive corner. Things are starting to go back on the boat rather. The antifouling is on and smoothed. The many part that I sent away for repair, modification and updating are starting to arrive back. As soon as the boat is painted there's going to be a mad few days getting the boat back together. I can't wait!
